A Valedictory Service was held on 16th June for staff and students of South Wales Baptist College in Cardiff. The service marked the completion of their College course for students, and also the retirement of two College tutors, The Revd Dr John Weaver, Principal of the College, and Dr Roy Kearsley, Tutor in Christian doctrine. Both were presented with gifts from the trustees as well as from the College students. John Weaver’s wider ministry in England and Wales, was also recognised by the presentation of a book entitled Prayers of the People.
The Revd Roy Jenkins, chair of the College trustees, noted the outstanding service of both Roy Kearsley and John Weaver and offered prayer for staff and students. The College is looking forward to the arrival of The Revd Dr Peter Stevenson who will be the next Principal and The Revd Dr Craig Gardiner who will be tutor in Christian doctrine. A service of welcome and induction will be held at Ararat Baptist Church on Wednesday, 21st September at 7.30pm.
