Craig Gardiner, LLB, BD, MTh PhD, Tutor in Christian Doctrine
Craig grew up in the North of Ireland and first came to Cardiff to study Law. After a time in legal practice he returned to the University and South Wales Baptist College where he trained for Baptist Ministry, gaining en route, a BD and a Masters in Christian Doctrine. He went on to complete a PhD on Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the nature of Christian Community, written under the supervision of the Most Revd Dr Rowan Williams and Revd Dr Karen Smith.
Craig spent eight years pastoring a Calvary Baptist Church in Cardiff before returning to the University and the Baptist College in 2011 as a tutor in Christian Doctrine. He has a particular interest in the work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and has an ongoing interest in the interaction of doctrine, spirituality, worship and ethics.
Over the last ten years he has also served as a member of the BUGB Council and the Faith and Unity Executive, as well as the Baptist Peace Fellowship and Retreat Group. He has helped co-ordinated Worship for the annual Baptist Assembly and is a regular broadcaster for BBC radio.
Craig is married to Meredith. They met on Iona and Craig is a member of the Iona Community. They have two children, one of each. If he had more time to spare Craig would spend it making and listening to music as well as going hill walking.
